Sun City Anthem for people 55+ is part of  the upscale master-planned Anthem community in the hilly, very windy area of Henderson to the south of Las Vegas. It is arguably the most affluent retirement community in the Las Vegas area.

Also included in Anthem are the retirement communities of  Solera, and the new luxury condominiums of Terra Bella.  The Coventry and Anthem Country Club neighborhoods are for people of all ages.  

The original idea for Anthem was to include homes for a wide variety of ages,  not just for people in or approaching retirement.  This would allow people to move from one neighborhood to the next throughout their lives as their needs changed and continue to live in Anthem.  

The average age for people moving into the Sun City Anthem is around 60 according to the Del Webb Corporation.  And almost half the residents work full time.

The steep Sun City Anthem's Revere golf course is rated the 3rd best in Las Vegas -- just behind 2 private courses.

One interesting feature of Sun City Anthem is the close relationship with the St. Rose Dominican hospital Siena campus which is just down the hill.  Some outpatient medical care and testing is actually conducted in the Sun City community center.
