The Green Valley Library with a playful fountain in front is in the southeast Las Vegas Valley.   Green Valley is, in fact, a neighborhood that is mostly located within the city limits of Henderson.

Green Valley

Green Valley, an area in the Southeast Las Vegas Valley, is governed in part by the city of Henderson and in part by Clark County.  One of the first suburban communities built away from The Strip, Green Valley is now a mix of ranch-style homes built in the '70s and new homes for sale in developments along tree lined streets. 

Luxury Homes in Green Valley 

One section of Green Valley is zoned for horses and includes luxury homes where homeowners share equestrian facilities.  Other luxury home communities in Green Valley include The Fountains and the Legacy Golf Course, both gated communities.  

Business and shopping

Just off the 95 Freeway south at Sunset Road and Stephanie, you will find a large shopping complex including an enclosed shopping mall, The Galleria, with several major department stores as well as blocks and blocks of restaurants, shops, casinos and other businesses, including the largest center of automobile dealerships in Nevada.

Henderson   

Henderson, a separate city from Las Vegas, is definitely hot.  Not only has it grown fast over the years, it is one of the hottest areas--temperature-wise-- in the Valley.   But "hot" is always relative in the Valley.   In recent years Henderson has spread out over the desert hills towards Boulder City as new housing development follows new housing development.  

Henderson West, Silverado, Seven Hills

 Especially rapid growth has taken place in Henderson West -- an area to the south of the new 215 Freeway-- where you will find upscale neighborhoods such as Green Valley Ranch, Seven Hills and the luxurious Anthem Country Club.  There are also many attractive and more modestly priced developments in this area of western Henderson, one of the most windy areas of the Valley.  The Silverado Ranch is attractive; Green Valley Ranch is even better.

Henderson is noted for its official policy of being "child-friendly".  Reflecting this, there are many parks, classes, concerts, and organized recreational activities for families and children, including Shakespeare in the Park.   

Early morning visitors to The District shopping area next to the Green Valley Ranch casino.  Above the street level shops are condos, so altogether there is a more urban feel to this neighborhood.

Business and Shopping in Henderson

 While old downtown Henderson has a main street lined with old time neighborhood businesses, much of the commercial and retail activity is found around The Galleria Mall near the Sunset Station Casino in Green Valley. 

The newest addition to Green Valley shopping is The District, shown above.  It is a combination of retail stores with condos above.  Once a week Henderson has an open-air Farmers Market.
